Kicking above the Omaha Beach - Normandy
Just a short still summer article about kicking the reefs of Normandy, where the invasion happened in 1944...
Shortly before the EC 2011 I stopped in Normandy when traveling from Biarritz to Woudenberg. I kicked some 40km trip above the Juno and Omaha beaches, where the Canadian and British troops landed in 1944.
Really a nice trip on a narrow path some 50-100 height meters above the sea, just copying the Omaha beach cliffs. Later I met some German anti aircraft possitions and other military stuff - very interesting and also enjoyable.
Do you prefer this Na koloběžce po stopách Dne D map in a bigger scale?
If you come there, visit the 360 Cinema in Arromanches and also the port down there... May be you could use some trekking tyres, however Race MAX was still Ok there:)
