Eurocup and Czech league final - Liberec
Seazon is over in Europe and also in the Czech Republic. Last race of the Eurocup 2011 decided it´s winner and finded a brand new kicking star - our Ultima mate Vašek Barák
Still three guys could have been overall winners of the EC 2011 before the last races in Liberec - me, Jasper Stringa and Kai Imonnen. As Kai stayed in Finland, I needed 4th and 5th place to win it overall. Easy to say so, however tough to do, moreover when recovering from the EC injury:)
So it was impossible for me to reach that 4th a 5th place, not just because all the big names were on the line, but also because a newbie Vašek Barák came to his first races. Vašek is the Czech athletics 400m hurdles champion in the 23 years category and he showed his strength in Vesec (3rd) and then even more in Ještěd climb, where he overhelmed Jisl by over a minute to finish second just 15 seconds behind Ladislav Provod!!! Awesome kicking.
Sunday race was very tactical from the Ultima side. We decided the previous night in some Liberec discotheque that we would attack in the same mood as Liquigas in Vuelta day before. And so we did to end 2nd, 4th and 9th at the end - not bad.
Ok, Jasper nd Rosanne are the overall winners, congrats to them. Everybody await the World Champs in Germany 2012 now!!!
